Abstract

This is an age full of challenges that are crying for attention and resolution. The plethora of issues that TfD can mine includes, but is not limited to, security, governance, climate change, health, gender-based violence, equity, and inclusion in all societies burdened by systemic discrimination. However, more needs to be done and more people need to get on board. I propose that we tell stories to contextualize the practice, reflect on what we have done and our achievements. Then we can assess and figure out a road map. Also, when we have told the stories of TfD journeys, we will know where TfD is going as well as what methods and strategies it needs to adopt in this digital age. My paper engages in a brief story of TfD’s journey of learning and of crossing boundaries – from the indigenous performances through the academia and the NGO sectors.
